While this is not the earliest Jet Ski, it is the earliest brochure that I have.
Going back in time to Lincoln, Nebraska 1975 and new Jet Skis are being built.
This advertisement is from a 1976 Cycle magazine that I have.
Here is a Jet Ski sticker from the 1970s.
While searching to find out if I had the only sticker left (shown online anyway) I found where someone had sold this vintage Jet Ski dealer sign. I cannot confirm yet if this actually came from Kawasaki. At first it looks like it could have but then when you notice that her life jacket can't quite contain her perkiness it makes you wonder if corporate would have approved that in the final design. I mean, I like it, but who knows?
If I come up with some interesting items on earlier Jet Skis it will be for a future post.

1987 Kawasaki KLR650 KL650-A1 Brochures
Have you ever notice how many of the Kawasaki brochures being sold on eBay have been 3-hole punched? While some of them were probably punched by an individual that is not true for all of them.
Sometime in the late summer or fall, before the new models start to arrive, Kawasaki sends new sales binders out to dealers. These binders contains lots of sales and marketing information and a copy of each new brochure. Sometimes the final version of the brochure is not actually ready at the time the binders go out. When this is the case Kawasaki mocks up a preliminary version.
Here we have the preliminary version for the new-for-1987 KLR650 (KL650-A1) followed by the actual sales brochure that followed days or weeks later. The back of most preliminary brochures usually looks more like a brochure but maybe without a picture. This one is even more basic.
If you toggle between the the two front images you can tell it is the same picture of the KLR. The dirt background is just added which I suppose is no surprise.
Many of the items I will post on this blog are from Kawasaki sales binders.

1992 Suzuki GSXR & Katana Sales Brochure (USA)
So, I was digging in the "archives" this week. A box I haven't been in at least 15 years anyway. Came up with some Suzuki brochures that might be worth a look.
Most of my brochures are of the standard 8.5" x 11" variety so they are all in pages in binders. These early 90s Suzuki's are 11" x 11" so without pages and a binder that size they end up out-of-sight, out-of-mind. They deserve to be admired.
First post selection is the 1992 Sport Bike brochure featuring the GSX600F, GSX750F, and GSX1100F Katanas as well as the GSX-R750 and GSX-R1100.
BlogSpot display limitations being what they are these deserve a real full-size view so links are also below.
Image links: Front Cover | Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3 | Page 4 | Page 5 | Page 6 | Page 7 | Page 8 | Page 9 | Page 10 | Page 11 | Page 12 | Page 13 | Page 14 | Page 15 | 2pg Version 1 | 2pg Version 2 | 2pg Version 3 | 2pg Version 4 | 2pg Version 5 | 2pg Version 6 | 2pg Version 7
Other brochures of this size for some future posts will include all types of Suzuki's (street, dirt, quads,..) from 1992 and 1993. Until then,

1976 Kawasaki KZ900 LTD KZ900-B1 Original Sales Brochure
Live the Dream. At least that is what some might think when the see LTD. It does say Limited Edition on this brochure but I seem to remember seeing live the dream printed somewhere. This is the only Kawasaki brochure I can ever remember seeing with no photo of the product--only artist renderings.
So that none of us feel cheated here are some pictures of a real KZ900 LTD. Cycle Magazine April 1976. While scanning this magazine I found a few interesting items on other pages that I scanned for future posts.
Links for full-sized images are provided below for easier reading. Can't help the Blogspot display limitations.
