Most people seem to know the ZX7/ZX7R (the recognizable icon), the ZX900 (from the movies), and the ZX10/ZX11 (for the speed records). But for two years in between the ZX900 (84-86) and the ZX10 (88-90) there was another "World's Fastest." That would be the 1000R Ninja (86-87) ZX1000-A1/A2.
Here is the 1986 ZX1000-A1 1000R in Firecracker Red/Metallic Black.
It was also available in Ebony/Pearl Cosmic Gray.
Notice the brochure does not show the second color option. Well, that will be corrected shortly.
Next came the 1987 ZX1000-A2 1000R in Ebony/Pearl Cosmic Gray.

Thanks for looking. Gary / kawasaki-yama-zuki
